Coughing and Clapping first proofs

Currently reading first proofs for the forthcoming edited book, Coughing and Clapping: Investigating Audience Experience, with Karen Burland. Lots of exciting chapters, on everything from the architecture of performing venues (Robert Kronenburg) to the benefits of post-performance conversations with audiences (Melissa Dobson and John Sloboda), fulfilling our aim of providing an empirical revisiting of Christopher Small’s deconstruction of the live music experience (Musicking, 1998).  See details on the Ashgate website and look out for news of publication later this year.
