The roar of the crowd…

Last of the SPARC outings this week, as Sarah attended the British Theatre Consortium’s ‘Roar of the Crowd’ conference on theatre spectators and cultural value. The conference presented the findings of another AHRC Cultural Value project looking at what audiences value about theatre attendance and how this changes in the months following the event. The conference also included panels from both theatre practitioners and audience researchers which, as noted by Liz Tomlin, highlighted the differing conceptions of ‘the audience’ within the field.
